Aperçu Thai ไทย
Drawing of Aperçu began in December 2009, and was tried & tested throughout a number of design commissions. Aperçu aimed to create a synopsis or amalgamation of classic realist typefaces: Johnston, Gill Sans, Neuzeit & Franklin Gothic. A sum of parts from the outset, Aperçu builds upon these initial reference points to create an extensive and usable family.
Since its release in August 2010, Aperçu has quickly found its position in the market, being used across a variety of different media and sectors around the world across a multitude of touchpoints. Utilized by leading visual institutions such as MOMA, Burberry, De Wiels, Zeit Magazine and the Walker Art Center amongst many others.
Aperçu Thai is a modern loopless style based on geometric shapes with a slight calligraphic influence drawn from its Latin counterpart. While the overall design is regulated by geometric shapes, individual letterforms still contain nuances that add a contemporary flavor.
Aperçu Thai is available in four weights — Light, Regular, Medium, Bold. Aperçu is available to license in four flavors; Standard (‘STD’), Professional (‘PRO’), Arabic (‘ARABIC’) and Thai (‘THAI’). The Thai variant contains language support for Cyrillic and Greek scripts, alongside numerous OpenType features and stylistic alternates and full support for the Thai script.
